1. Overview & Core Philosophy

LinkedIn Automation is an open-source, self-hosted automation software designed for developers, founders, and creators. We firmly believe in complete user privacy.

We do not operate centralized backend tracking servers, we do not monitor your posts, and we do not collect personal analytics. The automation executes exclusively on your local computer or inside your personal GitHub Actions cloud runner under your direct control.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

Because the project is entirely self-hosted, the maintainers and contributors have zero access to:

• API Credentials: Your Anthropic Claude API keys, Tavily Search keys, and LinkedIn Developer client credentials are never transmitted to us or any fourth party.
• LinkedIn Account Content: Your personal profile details, published posts, engagement metrics, and network are private to your LinkedIn account.
• Tracking & Telemetry: There is zero telemetry, tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or diagnostic reporting built into this repository.

3. Third-Party Services

LinkedIn Automation connects directly to the following official third-party APIs using the credentials you configure:

• Anthropic (Claude API): Used for article evaluation and high-converting copy generation. API requests adhere to the Anthropic Privacy Policy. Commercial API requests are never used to train frontier models.
• Tavily Search API: Used to search and retrieve real-time tech news without noise. Subject to the Tavily Privacy Policy.
• LinkedIn Developer Platform: Used to publish posts to your LinkedIn page via official OAuth 2.0 authorization, complying with the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
• GitHub Actions & GitHub Pages: The execution environment and documentation hosting are managed by GitHub under the GitHub Privacy Statement.

4. GitHub Secrets & Credential Protection

When deploying the automation on GitHub Actions, your API keys and tokens are stored in Encrypted GitHub Secrets. GitHub encrypts secrets using Libsodium sealed boxes before storage and automatically masks them from console workflow logs.

We strongly advise users to:

• Never commit .env or .env.local files to public Git branches.
• Regularly review LinkedIn Developer App permissions and revoke tokens when not in use.
• Set hard spending limits on your Anthropic and Tavily dashboards.

5. Local Storage & History

The application saves a lightweight history.json file to track articles published within the last 24 hours to prevent duplicate posts. This file stays purely within your runtime environment and is ignored by Git.

6. Support & Donations (Ko-fi)

If you support this open-source project via our Ko-fi page, payment transactions are handled securely by Ko-fi and their certified payment gateways (PayPal / Stripe). We never see or store your payment details.
